Großflohmarkt am Tönniesberg

It’s a rainy sunday and what on earth could make me (the slugabed in person) leaving my bed at 9 o’clock in the morning on such an unpromissing day? I’ll tell you: I indulge myself with the sweet pain of waking up early at the weekend and walking through the rain in the hope of finding some treasures and tons and tons of books. In short: Flea market.

I saw this promissing poster in town the other day and was immidiately attracted to the word “Groß” which sounded in my ear more like “huge, gigantic, fantastic, marvelous, mind blowing, AWESOME… etc.”…

It doesn’t matter at all that my mind was ignoring that it simply meant “big”.
I met up with two of my friends and we tried to find the way to said bazzar. In contrast to our expectations we needed to do a little journey until we got there. Please keep in mind that it was still raining. It took us about 15min and here and there some tiny crimes, but we made it at the end. From the first moment when I saw the paperboxes filled with random stuff I totally overlooked the fact that my jacket was soaked from rain and my fingers were actually popsicles. I wasn’t disappointed because the market was indeed huge… and AWESOME.

I didn’t take more pictures of the location itself, because I was too busy with spending my money. The whole area was covered by a glas roof so you can enjoy shopping even while it’s raining. If you ever get the possibility to visit this flea market, go for it! It’s really huge and most of the salesmen are really kind.
We stayed there for almost 4 hours but unfortunately the wheather suddenly got very cold so the last hour was quite a pain.

In the end I was still happy about my spoils and didn’t care about my frozen toes. (book > toes) All in all I spent almost 30€ and received these items:

Silk scarf, 6 books, crafting stuff, a skirt.

2 small pocketwatches (will be used as necklace) and a sweet brooche with lovely roses. ♥

Hope you had a joyfull day as well.
Kiss and hugs,
June.
